Gary Roberts is HOME!!!!!  He says:

Hi Friends,

Just a note to let you know that I am out off Pleasant Valley Manor. I am now home. I want to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, visits, etc. If you want, you can give me a call at home or at the office.  --- Gary

Please continue to pray for Heather Butz wife of Rotarian Ted Butz who was in a terrible horseback riding accident.  After several up and down weeks, her health is stabilizing and she is making slow progress at Good Shepherd Rehab in Allentown.
What happened last week?

50/50 - Rotarian Marianne Aronson from the Bethlehem Morning Star club was called to find the Queen and missed.  I think $129 rolls over!

Marianne Aronson was also our speaker and she shared some of expertise about tea.  Some quick facts:
1-Tea is the most consumed beverage in the room.
2-Tea is the 2nd most consumed beverage in the world
3-There are only 4 types of tea and they all come form the same plant.  It just depends on how it is processed.
4-Did you know you can overboil water?  Overboiling water removes oxygen and affects the flavor.
Tea inspires kindness, hospitalitym comfort, love, generosity, friendship, community, solitude, celebration, joy, reflection, gratitude and kindness.  smiley

This and that:  Donate $26.50 to Polio Plus. Why???  More info to come!

Though Atlanta has seen its share of violence and inequity over time, today it brims with reminders that there is another way. Get inspired while you’re visiting for the 2017 Rotary International Convention from 10 to 14 June. Take a short walk from the convention center to the Center for Civil and Human Rights. There, you can see the handwritten notes, speeches, and sermons of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., experience an interactive 1960s-era lunch counter “sit-in,” and learn more about persecuted groups all over the world. A streetcar will take you to the Martin Luther King Jr...

Rotary Foundation turns 100!!!

In 2016-17, our Rotary Foundations turns 100.  That’s a century of Rotary members changing lives and improving communities all over the world.  And that’s definitely something work celebrating.  Our district is going to have a Foundation Event on Nov. 12, 2016 to celebrate our Foundation.    We are looking for Rotarians from the district that have marketing and solicitation skills to serve on the committee and help make this event a huge success.  If you are interested in serving on the committee please email me at mbentler@nbtbank.com or call me on 570-862-6331.
