Please keep Gary Roberts in your prayers. A message from his daughter:
First and foremost THANK YOU ALL for your kind words, prayers and well wishes!!! They really do mean a lot and help!!!
Dad is getting stronger every day! They cut one of his meds in half last week and that seems to be helping with a few issues he's been having. Mom and I spoke with his "team" and was given a 2 week time frame until he can come home... hopefully the overachiever that he is will knock that down to 10 days!!! If you'd like to send him a card please do so to 501 Bryant Street: Stroudsburg, PA 18360. He still has some recovery ahead of him, even when he comes home, so all the encouragement he can get will help!!!!.
Please continue to pray for Heather Butz wife of Rotarian Ted Butz who was in a terrible horseback riding accident. After several up and down weeks, her health is stabilizing and she is making slow progress at Good Shepherd Rehab in Allentown.
After losing her mother in April, Phyllis Gibson's father passed away on September 14. Please keep her in your prayers at this difficult time.
What happened last week?
Classification Talk: Adam Bush from Morgan Stanley talked about the technological advances in the financial meeting and that he still tries to keep it old school by maintaining personal relationships and giving sound advice.
50/50 - Holley Kearns was luckily enough to be called to find the Queen a second time in almost 10 years. Did she succeed? Nope, she found a Jack. Tough noogies! :)
Robert Bedford from Stepping Stones Recovery Group came and spoke about addiction in our society. The disease of addiction must be addressed on a longer continuum of treatment through community bases programs after an initial inpatient treatment program stay. Along with that vision came the idea that a new approach toward educating the general public and people suffering from the disease of addiction could help break the myths and stigmas associated with the disease. The hope is that these social groups will begin working together to realize community based on term recovery efforts.
They have a large number of volunteers from both the general and professional community. They certify that the recovery homes must meet a set of standards and ideals developed by the stepping stones recovery foundation. They provide aid including but not limited to financial aid for recovery houses, food an the development of life skills and education. Steeping Stones feels that this assistance will increase the individuals motivation to continue on the path to a full recovery from the disease of addiction.
This and that: Eagle Scout Court of Honor is coming up and Murph needs someone to go.3
