Please keep Gary Roberts in your prayers. He was admitted to the hospital the other day with pneumonia. He was discharged but is now in a rehab facility to help get his strength back.
Please continue to pray for Heather Butz wife of Rotarian Ted Butz who was in a terrible horseback riding accident.
What happened last week?
50/50 - Pat Saylor was called to find the Queen in a new deck of cards. How did she do? She missed so $20 rolls over!
Frank Innes from the Rotary Club of Towanda spoke about his clubs experiences with sponsoring students for Youth Exchange. Maggie Post (a former YE Student) spoke about her exchange to Thailand. She had a really hard time at first in Thailand because of the language barrier and she felt lost without having the the ability to connect with people through communication. She learned that shared language did not have to be the basis for a connection with someone.
Christmas was difficult for her because it is a Buddhist country but she made a decision to share the gifts her family sent her with her host family. It helped her to realize that she could connect her culture to theirs. A home doesn't have to be your house or your school but you can bring your energy and yourself anywhere and make a home.
For more info on Youth Exchange see our YE Chair Cleo Jarvis!
This and that:
Programs are needed for the next 2 weeks! See Jim Becker!
Did you know that Dennis Jeter is the Districts Membership Chair? Well he his! Congrats Dennis!!!
