Dr. Jen Bradley from ESU is a Brodhead Watershed Assoc volunteer and a Master Gardener. The goal is to identify ways to keep the watershed healthy and gather data. The issues are problems with duck poop and trying to building the green infrastructure program that will focus on building rain gardens, curb runoffs, rain barrels, green roofs, sidewalk planters and curb bumpouts with retention basins.
Upcoming dates to volunteer are September 7th at Retro Fitness and September 8th at the Ann Street garden.
Here are the top 10 tips for clean waterways:
1-Grow less grass and more native plants
2-Set your lawn mower deck to a 3 inch mowing height
3-Install a green rood on your shed or garage
4-Use rain barrels to catch and use rainwater
5-Install a rain garden or rentention basin to filter rainwater runoff
6-Avoid using soap when you wash your car at home
7-Use vegetated swales to slow down and absorb rainwater runoff
8-Plant more trees
9-Limit your use of fertilizer on turf and gardens
10-Pick up pet waste promptly to avoid contaminating waterways

Dave Fox will host the annual club picnic at his home on August 28 at 1PM. Everyone is invited to bring their families and a side dish for sharing.
West End Rotary will be doing wheelchair rental at the fair August 21st - August 27th and are looking for other volunteers.
