Recap -
President Ed shared the need to find a living kidney donor for an East Stroudsburg man, Earl Phelan. David Krissman of The Great Social Experiment will be our speaker via Zoom on April 16th, but due to the urgency of the need Ed was sharing now. Please visit this site if interested or pass the information on to others.
District Governor Tim Genetti visited to thank us on our progress to date. We had 69 members on January 1 and now have 75! The goal is two more members from the Stroudsburgs by month-end. The district had 985 on January 1 and now has 1090! The goal is 1100 for the District, but ideally we can surpass it. “More hands mean we can do more good!”

Don and the Golf Committee are meeting Tuesday and anyone interested in joining should reach out to him. Major sponsors are secured; everyone can help with raffle prizes. The date is Wednesday, June 3 and all are welcome for the entire event or for lunch and/or dinner. There were almost 80 golfers last year with a goal of 100 this year. This event typically raises over $10,000, which funds our grant applications – “let’s raise the money to give the money.”
Guest Speaker Mary Prescott, JD-VP, Senior Fiduciary Advisor at PNC, addressed the group regarding trust planning. Although the Federal Estate and Gift Tax of 40% does not come in to play until $15 million or more, people with far less money may want to consider a trust. Mary discussed revocable or living, irrevocable, split-interest, and grantor trusts. Rotarians are encouraged to reach out to Mary if interested in trust planning for asset management or protection, probate avoidance, tax planning or for other reasons.
