Evening The life of a photographer & African Art

Biography: Clavertis Miller

My wife and I moved to the Poconos about 12 years ago from Mt.

Vernon, NY. She is a native of the Bronx, and I am from the state of Georgia. I came to New York right after high school and have been in the North East every since.

I joined the Air Force in 1968 and worked as a Personnel Specialist. I completed my four years of service and return to New York to finish college. I graduated from the City University of New York, with an AAS degree in marketing. Also studied film production at The School of Visual Arts in NYC.

During my period in the work force, I always had the desire to start my own business. Before the art gallery, some years back, I was a part-time wedding photographer. After several years of photography work I started a videography business doing weddings and music videos for musicians looking to get into the music industry.

Although I loved what I was doing and had a passion for those two areas, I felt that something was missing. I've always loved all types of art, but it was only when a good friend introduced me to an art form from Zimbabwe that I saw it as another opportunity to explore the commercial possibility of an art gallery.

Townhouse art gallery in East Stroudsburg, featuring my photography and imported, contemporary stone sculptures from Zimbabwe.
