We had a great presentation this past week.

Denise Bavaro, a graduate of the Getting Ahead program under Bridges Out of Poverty, gave an inspiring speech to the Rotary Club of the Stroudsburgs on Thursday at Sycamore Grille in Delaware Walter Gap.
She told how she went from a single, unemployed parent with one child living with her parents to a married mother of two and trained for her current job with Pocono Medical Center after the 22-week program and in the nearly two years of mentoring that follow it.
“I no longer rely on any form of public assistance and am working my way to being a mentor myself (in Getting Ahead),” Bavaro said to the Rotary Club gathering as a member of the second graduating class of the program completed in the spring of 2014. “Since I started, my life has undergone a 360 (-degree turn). I thought I could be self-sufficient as I gathered hope and this put it into action.”
