There was no lunch meeting last week due to our World Polio Day Event Oct 24.
Monroe County Commissioner, Sharon Laverdure presented us with the Proclamation declaring Oct 24, 20.24 as World Polio Day in Monroe County.
We appreciate our speakers and Power Point Presentation by Polio Survivor Carol Goodman, who shared the effects of Polio in her life, and Leslie Underhill's family story regarding her mom's life living in an iron lung and the impact on her family.
A big thank you to our panelists: Dr Ramlah Vahanvaty, local pediatrician and Vitali Pool, MD at Sanofi Pasteur Vaccines USA, answering any questions that the audience had. We kept it informal and intimate.
Thank you to all that supported our efforts in making Rotary visible and bringing awareness that Rotary's Polio eradication efforts still need to be forefront.
Polio anywhere means children are at risk everywhere.
