H.S. Leadership luncheon

We appreciate our $1,000 anonymous donor for the high school leadership luncheon and all Rotarians that have sponsored students.  Please keep spreading the word so we can cover all the students.

Rotarians cost to sponsor $25/student.

PURPOSE: to Introduce Rotary to 155 high school future leaders.

We share the importance of leadership and giving back to the community and worldwide.

Sponsorships help cover the cost of the students and also raises money to give back in scholarships to top deserving students at the end of the year. (H.S. Senior for college, Service Above Self Awards, RYLA, Exchange Student opportunity.)

Recap Oct 24, 2024
Recap:
Rotary/Polio Awareness and Visibility

There was no lunch meeting last week due to our World Polio Day Event Oct 24.
Monroe County Commissioner, Sharon Laverdure presented us with the Proclamation declaring Oct 24, 20.24 as World Polio Day in Monroe County.
We appreciate our speakers and Power Point Presentation by Polio Survivor Carol Goodman, who shared the effects of Polio in her life, and Leslie Underhill's family story regarding her mom's life living in an iron lung and the impact on her family.

A big thank you to our panelists: Dr Ramlah Vahanvaty, local pediatrician and Vitali Pool, MD at Sanofi Pasteur Vaccines USA, answering any questions that the audience had. We kept it informal and intimate.

Thank you to all that supported our efforts in making Rotary visible and bringing awareness that Rotary's Polio eradication efforts still need to be forefront.
Polio anywhere means children are at risk everywhere.

We watched 4 short you tube videos which were packed with information. You could click the links below to learn more:
The Pocono Cinema & Cultural Center provided a nice intimate setting for our attendees, and we appreciate the staff that assisted us for the evening.
Thank you to all of our members that donated snacks for the event, it was nice to have a treat.

Rotarians Leslie Underhill and Pres. Stacy Rodriguez attended Rotary District 7410 Pints for Polio event at Cooper's Seafood Restaurant on Oct 23.  It was a wonderful turnout of Rotarians, friends, speakers and students.

Service Project - Mady's Community Dinner - Oct 27, 2024

The evening members spearheaded the efforts of cooking and serving for over 80 community members. It was breakfast for dinner with mixed egg frittatas, ham, sausage, pancakes, corn bread muffins and desserts. Thank you Satellite Chair, Gene Prospero, Leslie Underhill, Zerla Bartolome, Debbie and Gail Kulick, Chiffon Bourjolly, Lance Godfrey, Violette Francois, Bob and Sonia Riley, Bob Lear, Juliette Caines, V.P.
