President's Corner
Greetings Rotarians!
Last week we had a brief open discussion about the Spaghetti Dinner.  Some changes that were suggested was the following:
It was expressed that people did not want to sell tickets.  One person stated that they would prefer just paying an amount as a "pass thorugh" to a specific charity.
Members felt that the Event needed more energy.
It was expressed that it should be looked as a "Community Event" showcasing Rotary versus a Fundraising activity.
Event will be held at Stroudsburg High School on May 16th (Saturday).  Meatballs will be made the day before.
One other important point: this year the Vocational Auction held on 3/26/2020 will be much smaller in scope than past year's and is not anticipated to raise the same level of funds.  Therefore the fundraising aspect of the Spaghetti Dinner, although not its primary value, is important for the generation of dollars back into the community at our year end distribution.
Thanks to each of you for your ongoing commitment to Rotary,
Jeff Gilbert
2019-2020 President
Delaware Water Gap National Park
Kathleen Sandt from the Public Information Office at Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area spoke about the economic impact the park has on our local economy.  The Delaware Water Gap has been a vacation destination for more than a century and visitors have spent many overnights close to nature.  The park offers many recreational activities that range from hiking, boating, fishing and camping; reliving the past through celebrations, to the parks birth during the conservation and environmental movements of the 1960s and 1970s.  There are many experiences on both sides of the Delaware River in New Jersey and Pennsylvania that provide glimpses to into the rich history of this region.  Visit their website at
