Greetings fellow Rotarians! So we have one month officially in the books and it was jam-packed with activities! We hosted the District Banner Exchange where our very own Karen DeMatteo was inducted as District Governor, Kin Roberts was named Rotarian of the Year, we said "cheers" to our outgoing President Lucille Piggott-Prawl and welcomed myself as the new President of the Greatest Rotary Club of the World, we inducted our 2019-2020 Board Members, hosted our annual Project Healing Waters event, had some great speakers and FUN at our meetings! Whew! What will August hold in store for us??? Well, some of the exciting things we have coming up are the Railriders Strike Out Polio baseball game (get your tickets NOW for only $12), our club Picnic at the Parkers, Stroudfest, Bob Wehe Memorial Blood Drive and Pints and Pinot for Polio. Speaking of the blood drive, if you plan on donating, DON'T DONATE NOW...just wait until September 9th! We also have the opportunity to help out friends at the West End Rotary during the West End Fair (details coming soon)! Mark your calendars now and keep your eye out each week for the MonRotary for other fun and exciting announcements! Rotary gives us the opportunity to CONNECT with others. Why not join a committee to connect with other Rotarians and the community? Not sure which one? Start the conversation with your fellow members and you just might find your calling! See you all tomorrow! Blessings, Jeff Gilbert 2019-2020 President |
