President's Corner
In recognition of the importance of international fellowship and goodwill among Rotarians with similar recreational and vocational interests, June is designated as Rotary Fellowships Month. The purpose is to promote increased participation in fellowships, as well as to increase understanding of the fellowship program through projects, activities, and events.

Joining a fellowship offers Rotarians the opportunity to…
  • Make lasting friendships outside personal Club, District or Country
  • Share a common interest in recreational activities (sports, hobbies, etc.)
  • Further vocational development by interacting with others of the same profession
  • Explore new opportunities for service
  • Have fun and enhance the Rotary experience
Examples of Rotary Fellowships include…
  • Rotarians on the Internet (ROTI)
  • International Fellowship of Rotarian Musicians
  • International Fellowship of Rotarians of Amateur Radio (ROAR)
  • International Computer Users Fellowship of Rotarians (ICUFR)
  • International Fellowship of Rotary Convention Goers
  • International Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians
There are many other fellowships encompassing a variety of topics including marathon running, scuba diving, flying, bird watching, chess, doll lovers, environment, Esperanto, lawyers, magic, nurses, police and law enforcement professionals, recreational vehicles, singles, stockbrokers, venture capitalists, wine and yoga.

Each Rotary Fellowship is required to be international in nature with active members in at least three countries. Fellowships operate independently of Rotary International, with rules, dues requirements and administrative structures of their own. Membership is open to Rotarians, spouses of Rotarians and Rotaractors.

Interested Rotarians can join a Rotary Fellowship at  https://www.rotary.org/fellowships

TIP: If a prospective Rotary Fellowship in your recreational or vocational interest is not on the list of approved Rotary Fellowships—why not start one? I intend to start a Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship and hope you will join me.

All the Best…

Scholarship and Essay Winners
Rotarian Lisa Baldwin, Youth Services Chair led this year's initiative for Service Above Self essay contest and scholarship competition. Rotarians Bob Lear and Ann Super assisted Lisa in reviewing the competition. Jacob Mohring was a Triple Crown winner. He won the essays for District 7410, Stroudsburg scholarship and Service Above Self. Julianne Sanchez, Omar Sharaf and Markaylah Williams were also winners of the Service Above Self essay contest. Julianne was unable to attend the luncheon but those who were present gratefully acknowledged receipt of their awards and were very articulate. All winners are very active in the community and school life and demonstrate academic excellence. These future leaders illustrate they have what it takes. Hopefully Rotary will be in their future and any Club would be lucky to have them.
