 In recognition of the importance of international fellowship and goodwill among Rotarians with similar recreational and vocational interests, June is designated as Rotary Fellowships Month. The purpose is to promote increased participation in fellowships, as well as to increase understanding of the fellowship program through projects, activities, and events. There are many other fellowships encompassing a variety of topics including marathon running, scuba diving, flying, bird watching, chess, doll lovers, environment, Esperanto, lawyers, magic, nurses, police and law enforcement professionals, recreational vehicles, singles, stockbrokers, venture capitalists, wine and yoga. Each Rotary Fellowship is required to be international in nature with active members in at least three countries. Fellowships operate independently of Rotary International, with rules, dues requirements and administrative structures of their own. Membership is open to Rotarians, spouses of Rotarians and Rotaractors.
