PA Dept of Health Community Health Nurse, Tamara Higgens-Cain presented on Lyme Disease. Lyme Disease has both short term affects such as rash, fever and achy joints and long term affects including heart issues, bells palsy and arthritis. The best prevention is wear repellant, shower as soon as you come in from the outside, wear socks over the bottom of pant legs and check pets for ticks.
