    Happy New Year!!

Today is the last day of the year 2020. It has been a challenging year for all of us… but we made it through and acknowledge that the end of the year provides a chance for new beginnings.
Ringing in 2021 is a cause for celebration, as many will spend time with friends and family to offer Happy New Year Wishes that sum up what the past year has meant. As glasses are raised and fireworks explode in the sky, it is important to recognize the special opportunity that the New Year brings for fresh starts.
It is also a time for reflection and new resolutions.  Whether your New Year resolutions consist of keeping your schedule with the treadmill, promising to work on relationships with loved ones, or be more active in Rotary… the effort will be well worth it going forward.
And Remember to keep your Spirit and determination unshaken. For with courage, faith and fortitude, you can achieve everything that is for your most joyful and highest good.
I wish you a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

Community Service
The Community Service Team is looking at our next quarterly service project. Rotarian Dave Super sent email to membership to send project forms to local non-profits to come up with projects for our service day, January 30. So far, we only have one project - Painting at Meals on Wheels. If you have a project, please get information to the Community Service Team so we can schedule accordingly.
District 7410 Stay at Home Auction
The District 7410 Virtual Fundraiser will be a stay at home auction. There was previous discussion about having a gala but it will be just an auction. The district is requesting donations of goods and services to be put up for auction. Across the district the usual localized Club fundraisers that people attend in large groups have been severely reduced and so we are working together to fundraise by launching a Silent auction between February 1, 2021 and finishing on March 14, 2021.  The auction hopes to raise $110,000 for The Rotary foundation Annual Fund and $30,000 for the Polio Eradication Fund of Rotary International. Any success over an above our goals will be used in our local clubs to match funds for local projects in our communities.
Chamber of Commerce
Marlyn Kissner, Executive Director Pocono Chamber of Commerce, gave us an update on how volunteer leaders help the local economy. Servant leaders lead with passion to inspire and support the businesses and communities throughout Monroe County! One of the recent initiatives are to offer group health care, accounting and legal services to local businesses. Her path to success is to let passion lead you to the life you deserve. To accomplish that, you need to be competitive, take risks, visualize the outcome, surround yourself with great people and take care of yourself. In the community, the chamber is looking at 2nd round of grants. Support local restaurants by ordering takeout and buying gift certificates. The Chamber strives to thrive!
