March is Water, Sanitation & Hygiene  (WASH) Month

Clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education are basic necessities for a healthy environment and a productive life.

When people have access to clean water and sanitation, waterborne diseases decrease, children stay healthier and attend school more regularly, and mothers can spend less time carrying water and more time helping their families. Excerpts from Rotary International

In the United States March is recognized as Women's History Month, The Satellite group will not have a meeting this Thursday.  The Rotarians will take an excursion to The Shawnee Inn to learn about a woman, Nancy Shukaitis, who made a difference in our area.

Recap March 5, 2026
Recap -
Rose London, newly inducted Rotary member and Community Relations & Development Director of The Salvation Army East Stroudsburg Corps, provided a comprehensive overview of The Salvation Army's history and how it positively impacts our community.  Services include the daily soup kitchen and food pantry, monthly food distributions, limited assistance with rental and utilities, a 32-bed shelter program, emergency disaster services and much more.  Volunteers are always needed, if interested.
Kyra Hershlag, Events & Development Coordinator, thanked the Stroudsburgs Rotary Club for their assistance, as the only Rotary Club in Monroe County to ring the bell.  Volunteers for this program and for transportation needs are also needed come November. Written by Grace D'Amico
