NOVEMBER IS FOUNDATION MONTH – THE ROTARY FOUNDATION. The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into projects that change lives both close to home and around the world.  Stroudsburgs Rotarian's stand proud for all the good we have done in our community and worldwide.
 
Recap:
** Nov 10 - No Lunch Mtg - We will meet at PEEC to and do a check presentation for the grant money that was awarded to PEEC for the exhibit we will walk through. 
 
At our last meeting we took a vote on the verbiage of the corporate membership in regards to the bylaws, a motion was made, the motion was seconded, membership in attendance accepted and approved it.
 
Today, October 31 is the deadline for exchange students to send in their applications.
 
At last weeks lunch meeting  Patricia Braun, from East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, spoke to us regarding packing meals to send to Haiti. If you are interested in volunteering or donating please contact Tricia Wingerter 570-517-9286.
 
Evening Group had a nice steak dinner fellowship at the Elk's Lodge.
 
 
Rotarian's Zerla Bartolome, Stacy Rodriguez and Peter Andrews went and supported The Abington's Rotary "Taste of the Abington's" Fund Raiser at the Country Club of Scranton. In the picture is Noor, an interact student and Past District Governor Roger Mattes.
We are looking to possibly do a "Taste of the Pocono's" as a fundraiser for Stroudsburgs Rotary.   Let us know what you think.
 
 
 
 
EAGLE SCOUT COURT OF HONOR
 
Past President Don Hannig was able to award Jacob Daniel Possinger from Troop 98, with a certificate, in recognition of his outstanding achievement in obtaining his Eagle Scout.

District Updates:
Five local Districts in our area have combined to send a Rotary International Disaster Relief Fund grant of $125,000 to the Ukraine. This Grant will be administered in partnership with Rotarians in Kyiv, the Ukraine capital. It provides humanitarian assistance to a medical shelter by supplying beds, mattresses, blankets, linens and pillows and other necessary items. Past District Governor Mary Ellen Bentler from Rotary District 7410 in Pennsylvania and NJ Past District Governor Ray Freaney have spearheaded the effort along with the support of the districts and their leadership.
