Featured Speaker & Announcements
Recap Jan 19, 2025
Last Week's Recap:
You missed a great opportunity to hear our vocational speaker / Rotarian Danica Hartenfels. She shared her journey on where she started in life, different careers, her involvement in the community / achievements, and where she is headed. If you didn't have the opportunity to hear her, set up a lunch date with her.  Voting is open - Help Danica become the Entrepreneur of Impact, appear in Forbes magazine, and win $25,000!
https://entrepreneurofimpact.org/2025/danica-hartenfels  If Danica wins a portion of the proceeds will be given to non-profits close to her heart, Safe Monroe and Family Promise.  The rest will be used to help franchise her business, Wick It Candles.  Let's stand with her and watch her flourish.

Leslie Underhill delivered the balance of 200 Pediatric Vaccine Information Packets to Dr. Ramlah Vahanvaty.  Again, we thank the PA Polio Network and Rotarian Leslie Underhill for spearheading this service project, and all Rotarians involved in putting the packets together. All materials received were funded by the PA Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (PAAAP) and the PA Immunization Coalition, through a grant received by the PA Polio Survivors Network. We appreciate all the Rotarians that helped put the packets together.  This project supports Rotary's focus on Disease Prevention.

A good time was had by all at the Slatebelt Rotary Night at the Races. District Governor Bill Skinner, and the Slatebelt Rotary appreciates Stroudsburgs Rotary involvement in their fundraiser and the sponsoring of horses by Gene Prospero, Zerla Bartolome, Stacy Rodriguez, and John Beljean. One of President Stacy's horses came in 1st Place.  A few of us won 1st place prizes in the 11 horses races and 2 of our Rotarians won door prizes. Lots of laughs, cheering, appetizers and fellowship.

RYLA 2025 will be held Sunday, June 15th through Thursday, June 19th, 2025, at Keystone College in LaPlume, PA.
For budgeting purposes, the cost per student is $375.00, which is an incredible value for all this 5-day/4-night program offers. The clubs sponsor the students.
RYLA provides leadership training to area young people. The schedule is full of activities that engage students physically, mentally, and emotionally to strengthen their relationship skills, build their self-confidence, and give them the tools they need to be leaders.

Again this year, the application will be available online. Applications are open and the link can be found on the website: https://portal.clubrunner.ca/50202/sitepage/ryla
