Announcements
Upcoming announcements:

RYLA 2025 will be held Sunday, June 15th through Thursday, June 19th, 2025, at Keystone College in LaPlume, PA.
For budgeting purposes, the cost per student is $375.00, which is an incredible value for all this 5-day/4-night program offers. The clubs sponsor the students.
RYLA provides leadership training to area young people. The schedule is full of activities that engage students physically, mentally, and emotionally to strengthen their relationship skills, build their self-confidence, and give them the tools they need to be leaders.

Again this year, the application will be available online. Applications are open and the link can be found on the website: https://portal.clubrunner.ca/50202/sitepage/ryla

District Update
Some fresh and great news to pass on to you all on the status of the Global Grant 2345372, "Pure Water for Ukraine" that our District DDF and five of our clubs (Dallas, Hazelton, New Milford Area, Stroudsburg, Wyalusing) participate in.

Dear Rotarian International friends supporting our project Pure water for Ukraine, I have the pleasure to send you an updated report, received a few days ago by the Rotary Club Zaporizhzhia.
You will read that 6 of the 7 sets of equipments are now at full work, serving the population of the Ukrainian communities selected; the last one will start working soon.
In the attached document you will also find videos showing the purifiers at work.
At this point, the project is almost concluded, as per our Global Grant with the Rotary Foundation we'll supply our ukranian partners with technical assistance and the consumables, when needed, in the next 2 years.
Thanks to your clubs for being generous and crucial partners for the success of this project.
I do hope we'll meet again soon to cooperate on other exciting Rotarian projects!
All the best

*INTERNATIONAL PROJECT OPPORTUNITY - Please read below & let us know if you think the club should pursue this further.

I recently received communication from Bob Pruitt of the Cupertino, California Rotary. He and his colleague, Marcia Elmer are seeking support for two projects "that have the potential to transform lives in Ecuador."

· Marcia's project is to fund a mobile operating room truck that travels throughout the rural areas of Ecuador providing surgery for people in need. This mobile operating room truck has helped almost 10,000 Ecuadorians over the last 30 years. The equipment in the mobile surgery truck is now at the end of its useful life and needs to be updated. This project speaks to Marcia as she appreciates the difference that life-saving surgeries can make in remote areas.

· Bob's project champions providing equipment for a medical nonprofit in Cuenca, Ecuador that works with a local hospital) to provide end of life hospice care for patients in need. Hospice care in Ecuador is in its infancy and this project will provide assistance to 1200 patients and 4000 families in the first five years. This project is very near and dear to my heart. Recently we lost my brother-in-law to a long fight with cancer. This project helps those facing this difficult time to spend the end of their days in dignity.

Copies of a flyer and overview for both projects are attached. Any consideration of these projects by other Rotarians in support of these global grants would be greatly appreciated.

If any clubs or Rotarians would like to participate, contact me at 570-498-6637 or davesolopalmer@gmail.com and I will put you in touch with the Rotary leads in Cupertino Rotary to determine the best donation method (DDF, cash, etc).

Yours In Rotary Service,

DAVID PALMER, Chair
