Ryan Lohman from the Pocono Mountains United Way spoke about the merge with Pocono Alliance.  This allows them to have a greater impact in the community and they support 22 organizations.  The main areas of focus are quality access to healthy food, support for working families and housing for the homeless.  Other programs include Bridges Out of Poverty, instruction workshops to help people with mortgage concerns and to help match programs for those with drug problems find the right treatment to resolve the opiod issue.  They also have a campaign to fund these programs with employee paycheck deductions.
