Lunch Punch Card Raffle - The Board announced a new way to raise money for Rotary. For $25 you will be entered into a raffle for 1/2 year lunch punch card valued at $416, good for you and/or a guest(s). Tickets will be sold through Ed Schaefer’s presidential term, and winner announced at Mike Raub’s first meeting in July.

District Day of Giving - Let's pull together to assure EREY (Every Rotarian Every Year). This is achieved by each member making a personal contribution to the International Foundation each year with a minimum of a $25 donation per year and Sustaining Member is a minimum of $100 per year. The District Day of Giving will run from April 15 through May 27. To celebrate this collective impact on May 27, there will be a Happy Hour at 5:00 PM at Cooper's Seafood House in Scranton.
David Krissman, creator of the Great Social Experiment, shared that the average life span of a person with kidney failure is 4-5 years; the average wait for a kidney for those who do not have a living donor is 5-7 years. Earl Phelan is one such person in need of a kidney. For his story, click here
One way to help is to be an Angel Advocate, extending someone like Earl's community. After signing up here, you will be put on a patient’s team, in this case Earl's, and receive an email once a week with links to a social media post to share. It’s as simple as clicking on the links and pressing “share” so the need for a living donor can be more widely distributed to your social media followers.
Of course, another way to help is to donate a kidney. One Rotarian shared her experience with a paired exchange kidney donation - donating a kidney for someone else so one's spouse could receive a compatible kidney from a living donor. Both are doing great with one kidney.
