Recap Mar 3 & 10, 2025
Recap Mar 3:
A big thank you to Elika Almeida, Co-Founder/Executive Director of Youth Infusion for sharing about her organization and her 2025 NEPA Youth Leadership Conference on May 6-8 at Kalahari. Stroudsburgs Rotary will set up a table at the event and announce the winners of the essay contest. We look forward to collaborating with Youth Infusion and help plant the seed and share the magic of Rotary and the services provided to more students leaders.
Elika will provide a complimentary full day conference and dinner to the student essay winners on May 7. A reduced rate for parents & family at $50/pp for the Awards Dinner & Global Celebration and a complimentary exhibitor table for the Stroudsburgs Rotary valued at $300, as a partner of Youth Infusion. We are looking forward to this wonderful event!

Recap Mar 10 - Thank you President Elect Ed Schaefer for jumping in last minute to cover the meeting. There was no speaker however there was fellowship.
President Stacy has had issues with her eyes and after being out of work for some weeks had to head into NY.

Potential new members have been coming to our meetings. Leslie gave out an application last week and I met with Dinoli Rowlands,a friend of Shilkys who will be submitting an application too.  The YMCA has asked to come back as a corporate member, and we will be receiving their application.

Rotaract Update- This Thursday we are meeting with Morgan Longenecker, a student from ESU that would like to help start the Rotaract back up at ESU.

Our doors are open and things are looking brighter as we enter our 5th week in Strouidsburg.

Menu -
Mar 20 - Flatbread with chicken club topping, cheese steak topping and possibly shrimp & salad.  Vegetarian options and a standard hamburger are always available.
Mar 27 - Sliders w/ french fries, mixed veges (vegetarian option off the menu)
Apr 3 - Chicken parmesan w/ pasta

If you have any requests or comments please let us know. As of now our members seem to be happy with the food and the choices.

GOLF, GOLF and more GOLF - keep spreading the word to family, friends and businesses about our golf fundraiser on  Wednesday, June 4 at Shawnee Inn.
Looking for golfers, gift cards or baskets as prizes, tee sponsors, and other sponsorships available too....  Not a golfer no problem, support Stroudsburgs Rotary by volunteering or join us for lunch or dinner.
Announcements
Upcoming announcements:

The District Grants Training was the last couple of weeks, and a few of us attended in person. Foundation Chair Christie Bower, Foundation Treasurer, Karen Bastidas, Pres. Stacy and Pres Elect Ed Schaefer. I believe Foundation secretary Chiffon Bourjolly attended on a different date.  A lot less money is available as a matching District grant this year.

District Conference - Focus on Peace Building - April 4-6
Hershey Park

RYLA 2025 will be held Sunday, June 15th through Thursday, June 19th, 2025, at Keystone College in LaPlume, PA.
For budgeting purposes, the cost per student is $375.00, which is an incredible value for all this 5-day/4-night program offers. The clubs sponsor the students.
RYLA provides leadership training to area young people. The schedule is full of activities that engage students physically, mentally, and emotionally to strengthen their relationship skills, build their self-confidence, and give them the tools they need to be leaders.

Again this year, the application will be available online. Applications are open and the link can be found on the website: https://portal.clubrunner.ca/50202/sitepage/ryla

With 10 cards left Ed Schaefer pulled for the Queen, however, she remained hidden, Ed won $6?, 70? gets rolled over.

Then Dave Yarosh pulled for the Queen - I believe they are missing 2 cards. There should be 9 cards.
Dave won 5? 80? gets rolled over.

50% to the club, and the other 50% gets split- 1/3 goes to the one who picks for the Queen and 2/3 gets rolled over.
