Featured Speaker & Announcements
Recap July 25, 2024
Last Week-
First, a big shout out to Eric Keber for being put on the spot to be our guest Sergeant at Arms. He did a great job. Who will step up next?
Second, thank you Jeff Gilbert for stepping in as song leader during Kirby Upright's absence.
Third, we don't mention this enough but we appreciate our room setup crew and take down crew. You all know who you are.. but just in case you don't - John Dennis, Grant Terrill, Peter Andrews, Dave Fox, Leslie Underhill and our incoming leadership help Ed Schaefer, & Mike Raub. If I missed someone my apologies... we do appreciate you...

A great invocation & reminder about Peace from Dave Fox, followed by a Rotary minute relating to peace by Peter Andrews.

Thank you to last weeks speaker, Tom Yanac, Coroner, from the Monroe County Coroner's Office and his staff. It was an interesting talk and then for Q&A- dead silence lol.

At our evening meeting Stacy Rodriguez taught the members balloon twisting. The group made dogs and wands. We are getting ready to twist at Stroudfest. Afterwards, we had fellowship at Bovino's in East Stroudsburg.

Prayers for Pat Sayler, she spent a few days in the hospital but is now at home recouping.

A goodbye from Maria Candelaria. She has retired and will be moving to North Carolina to be closer to her children.
"To our Rotary members  I wish to express my deep gratitude for their friendship.  They are all so highly valued and made my transition into our community easy and joyful. Particular greetings to
Frank and Barbara Herting, Ray Starner, Phyllis Gibson, Dave Fox, Dave Yareth, Kirby, Jeff, Richard Mutchler, John Kulba, and dear Grant.
After 48 years as a practicing attorney I'm going fishin !
Hugs to all,
Maria T. Candelaria, Esquire

PS please let my particular friends above know my sentiments.

District Update
Rotary District 71410 just released this information on the Global Grant that we are a part of:
Today is a good day.
The water filtration systems that our District and Clubs collaborated on with others in a Global Grant have arrived on station in Zaporishzhia Ukraine.  They have been immediately forwarded to the five (5) local communities of Shyrokivska, Mykhailivska, Novomykolaivska, Preobrazhenska and Bilenkivska.  Their arrival was covered by the local municipal TV channel/station.
When I shower tonight, and drink some of the fresh clean water from our tap before bed, I will feel fulfilled that our friends in Ukraine can now do the same.  The simple things in life. “The Magic of Rotary”
David Palmer, Chair
Rotary District 7410, International Service Chair

50/50-With 8 cards left Dave Yarosh again picked for the Queen but he did not succeed. Dave won $4, &  $91? rolls over!

We started a new way of giving back the 50/50.

50% of that days money will go to the club.

The other 50% will be split 2/3 and 1/3.

2/3 of the 50% will be rolled over like before. However,
1/3 of the 50% will be given back to the person that picked the card.

That way if you got chosen to pick for the Queen you will win a few dollars. Sharing the joy.

Example:
$60 in take

50% for club - $30
The other 50% gets split:
2/3 gets rolled over - $20
1/3 gets paid out to person -$10
