Evening- Kristi Hammond, Exec Director
Pocono Services for Family & Children

Kristi has worked in Human Services for more than 10 years assisting children, families, and individuals as an agent of support and guidance. More recently, Kristi has served over 7 years as Case Manager with Youth Empowerment Services and Career Counselor/Career Guidance Manager with PA CareerLink Monroe County. Her professional life includes a commitment to serving the needs of children and families as a career counselor and social worker. She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in counseling from East Stroudsburg University. She also holds a master’s degree in Social Work from the Catholic University of America.

Understanding the importance of connections and community, she has dedicated her career to improving the lives of our future professionals by engaging with local agencies. She chose to pursue a MSW knowing she would have the opportunity to advocate for the most marginalized and vulnerable populations and be their connections in advancing professionally.

She is the Board President for Interagency Council of Monroe County, which is a coalition of representatives from local human service providers with an emphasis on low-income residents and at-risk citizens. She is the Treasurer for Kainoa’s Ohana; an agency that offers addicts a safe place to work on cultivating the human spirit by creating opportunities to maintain their journey through recovery.

Kristi started her career in mental health conducting a cross-cultural investigation of behavioral psychology and the social service delivery systems in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. From there she went on to work as a mental health technician for adolescent youth with Shawnee Academy. The school closed and some students were left to emerge back into society without supports. This is where she cultivated her passion for advocacy and social justice.
