Bio: Joseph A. Akob

Joseph A. Akob serves as the Executive Director of the Student Activity Association (SAA) at East Stroudsburg University (ESU), where he provides leadership and strategic direction for a wide portfolio of student‑focused programs and services. In this role, he oversees operations including the university bookstore, recreation center, card services, student governance, student clubs and organizations, Stony Acres outdoor facility, and a range of campus engagement initiatives. Akob joined ESU in 2003 as Director of the Recreation Center and has since become a key figure in enhancing campus life, wellness, and student engagement. Under his leadership, ESU has expanded numerous initiatives, including campus recreation and esports. He has been closely involved with major projects such as the development and dedication of ESU’s Warrior Esports Room, demonstrating his commitment to innovative and evolving student interests. Before arriving at ESU, Akob built a strong career in collegiate recreation and program management. He previously served as Associate Director of Campus Recreation at Florida Atlantic University, working with extensive recreation programs and large‑scale facility operations.
