We joined a live Webinar from Rotary International to discuss the state of Rotary. It was shared that there are some concerns as only 61% of the 45,000 clubs have reported at least one club officer and 10% of members leave the first year they join. For the first time Rotary International is setting a bold membership goal: by our 125th Anniversary in 2030, grow from 1.2 million members to 1.25 million. Rotary clubs are great for people looking for friendship, service and networking opportunities, across generations and industries. Although every club has a distinctive club culture, members are most satisfied when their club offers:
- Confident leaders and clear communication
- Enjoyable meetings
- Meaningful service with demonstrated impact
- Opportunities for personal growth
- Strong interpersonal connections
After the webinar, all present contributed to ideas on how to attract new members. All are invited to stay for the Board meeting after the 9/3 lunch meeting to convert ideas to action plans.
