Last Week's Speaker Feb 16, 2023
Motivational speaker and expert storyteller/magician, Tommy Hilcken, was last weeks speaker and he brought lots of laughs for us.  Tommy, who is in his 32nd year of recovery stressed how important it is to live and laugh, because life is too short. He has seen it all. Many attendees complimented his talk.

Laughter enhances your intake of oxygen-rich air, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles, and increases the endorphins that are released by your brain. Activate and relieve your stress response.

Need some more reasons to start laughing? Here are 12 for you:
  • It reduces stress. ...
  • It's good for the heart. ...
  • We become less aggressive. ...
  • It strengthens the immune system. ...
  • It makes us more sociable. ...
  • Difficult situations are made easier. ...
  • Happy hormones are released. ...
  • We breathe better.
  • It's great for the kids
  • It aids digestion
  • It's a natural pain reliever
  • It combats insomnia
District Awards Stroudsburgs Rotary
Two weeks ago Past District Governor Mary Ellen Bentler awarded Stroudsburgs Rotary, under the leadership of Past President Don Hannig (not in attendance), with a banner for the highest per capita giving per club.

President Dave Yarosh presented Doris Wehe with the signed list of donors during the Bob Wehe Red Cross Blood Drive. It brings Doris joy as Rotary and the community still honor the contributions that Bob brought to all of us.

On 26 January in Odesa, Mykola Stebljanko spent the day under attack. A barrage of missiles killed 11 people and destroyed critical infrastructure around Ukraine, including in the city where Stebljanko lives.

Turkey and Syria were struck by a devastating earthquake on 6 February that has killed tens of thousands of people, destroyed homes and other structures, and left people across the region without shelter.
