Carlena Back, part-time volunteer coordinator for Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm, shared the QV history video she created a few years ago for her Master's Degree capstone project. The history begins with the German Depper family in the mid-1760's, whose descendents lived on the farm for nearly 150 years. In 1958, the property was sold to Alice and Wendell Wicks. They, along with their daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Gary Oiler, opened the museum in 1963. Since 1974, Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm has been owned and operated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational corporation governed by a board of directors.
Rotarians Laura Goss, Grant Terrill, and Grace D'Amico are regular volunteers for Quiet Valley's festivals and/or Highlight Demos. District Baseball game fundraiser - District Governor Andy Lane Chapman threw out the 1st pitch.
Our Railriders Ball Game fundraiser on August 22, 2026 was a great success.All together we had 44 buyers for 146 tickets. Ticket sales, donations, and the 50-50 raffle resulted in a net of $1,590.00.
These funds will now be forwarded to the Rotary Foundation and applied to the "Annual Fund-Shared." As a result, in three years a significant portion of these funds will be returned to the District for its DDF that year.
