Service Projects
The Rotary Club of the Stroudsburgs conducts club based "Service Projects" on National, International and Local Community levels.  Over the last 100 years we have participated in many projects. This is only a taste of our community involvement and around the World.

PEDALS 4 PROGRESS

Lives are being enhanced by The Rotary Club of the Stroudsburgs and the Rotary Club of Smithfields.  They are teaming up with the nonprofit organization Pedals 4 Progress (P4P) to host a donation drive to collect used and new bicycles as well as portable sewing machines.

The items collected will be shipped to Togo, Rwanda, Tanzania, Belize, and Guatemala to provide people in those developing countries the tools they need to earn a living and improve their transportation.

The donation drive will take place on September 7, 2024 from 9am-12pm at the ODD-LOT PARKING LOT located at 765 SEVEN BRIDGE RD, EAST STROUDSBURG, PA 18301. A $20 donation per item is requested to help offset the shipping costs overseas. All material and monetary donations are tax-deductible, and receipts will be provided.

"This is a great opportunity for the community to keep unused bikes and sewing machines out of the landfills and assist in helping make a new life and a real difference in the lives of people in developing countries," said Leslie Underhill, longtime member and event organizer of the Stroudsburgs Rotary Club. "The bicycles and sewing machines will provide sustainable transportation and small business opportunities that can lift families out of poverty."

Bikes should be rust-free, and portable sewing machines should be in working condition.  Children's trikes will not be accepted, but any bike with flat tires and those that need some repair will be gladly accepted.

For more information about the donation drive, please contact Leslie at 570-460-2304 or visit the Pedals 4 Progress website at P4P.org.

Project Healing Waters
This was a favorite of ours. Unfortunately 2023 was our last year.
"Project Healing Waters brings a high-quality, full-spectrum fly fishing program to an ever-expanding number of disabled active military service personnel...PHWFF has become recognized as an innovative leader and model in the field of therapeutic outdoor recreation for the disabled, through its successful application of the sport of fly fishing as a rehabilitation tool." - from projecthealingwaters.com

Rotary Club of the Stroudsburgs, for the last few years, have hosted a day of fishing for our veterans.

Pocono Alliance All-Inclusive Playground
Through our fundraising efforts our club was able to donate to this great project and contributed to the Sound Garden.  This playground is for children of ALL abilities.
In later years we also helped with the Resica Playground build and through our fundraising efforts we purchased a handicap swing for them to install.
