ROTARACT
The Rotaract Club at East Stroudsburg University is also sponsored by the Rotary Club of the Stroudsburgs. They meet to exchange ideas, plan activities and projects and socialize. Led by President Jamie Resse, they do hands on service projects and have fun networking and social events. Being a member of Rotaract provides professional development opportunities and an gives access to an international network of young leaders.
Through Rotary International, Rotaract is a service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30 who are dedicated to community and international service. Its membership totals over 184,000 in more than 8,000 clubs worldwide. RYLA
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive training program that brings together 10th grade students to further develop character and leadership skills and learn about Rotary. RYLA takes place at Keystone College and clubs in District 7410 sponsors students to attend. The event is completely student run by past RYLA participants. For these young adults, this recognition offers the opportunity to build self-confidence, gain exposure to a variety of issues and people, meet active community leaders, and learn valuable information and career skills.
Youth Exchange
The club sponsors a student for their junior year to spend a year abroad. Our most recent exchange student was Melissa Dobroski. She had spent a year in Poland and also went on a EuroTour.
Rotary International's Youth Exchange Program offers a long term exchange that usually lasts one year, during which the student lives with more than one family in the host country and is required to attend school there.
