Louis Turpin provided an interesting discussion on ShelterBox, a Rotary International Project that began in 2000 in Cornwall, England. Since its inception, this project has provided shelter, hope and dignity to over 1.5 million people displaced by natural disaster and conflict in more than 100 countries around the world, oftentimes in the most hard to reach locations. ShelterBox has been nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Prize. Kits include emergency shelter, solar lights, water filters, cooking equipment and tools.
